Standard Delivery FAQ’s

Q1. How much does delivery cost?

It depends on what is being delivered, how much is being delivered, and where it is being delivered. The amount of material we can deliver may be limited by weight or volume, so there are a lot of variables. Give us a call and we can quickly give you a quote. 616-546-9196.

Q2. Is there a minimum amount I need to order to get it delivered?

No, we can deliver any amount.

Q3. Can I get material dumped somewhere other than my driveway?

Maybe.
Driver discretion is the final word when it comes to where we can unload. Other hazards like power lines, space to maneuver, & ground conditions all play a factor.
We will do our best to accommodate dumping locations but if the driver isn’t comfortable then an alternative location will need to be chosen.

Q4. What can I get delivered?

Pretty much anything, but different products require different delivery methods. Standard delivery using dump trucks is used for any bulk (loose / unpackaged) materials.
Products that can be stacked on a pallet are normally delivered using a straight-truck and off-road forklift (similar set-up to what lumber yard companies use). We can deliver products that can be stacked on pallets using dump trucks if you are ok with material being dumped out. Dump truck delivery of bagged product will likely result in torn bags. Dump truck delivery of large rocks will likely result in chipped or cracked rocks. Dump Truck delivery of sod will likely result in torn rolls.

Q5. Can I get material dumped in 2 different locations?

Drivers can definitely give dumping in multiple locations (on the same property) a shot. It’s tough to control the flow of material as it is being unloaded. If you absolutely must have material in more than 1 location it is best to pay for multiple deliveries, it might save a lot of work.

Q6. What can I get delivered?

A. Standard delivery is used for any bulk materials.
We can deliver bagged product or sod as well but material will still be dumped out and bags could break, or sod could rip.
Standard delivery is not used for materials that come on pallets.

Q7. When can I get my delivery?

We deliver most products Monday- Saturday. Most delivery orders can be processed same day or next, but providing more lead time is always helpful. Fridays and Saturdays are always very busy days for delivery; it’s a good idea to take deliver mid-week if you need material for a weekend project. You can schedule your delivery for whatever day works best for you (closed on Sundays).

Q8. Can I get my delivery at a specific time of day?

Most deliveries are scheduled for “anytime” on your chosen date. Limited time slots are available for: morning (8am-11am), mid-day (11am-2pm), and later (2pm-close). Note that we’re not able to guarantee “first-out” deliveries. We suggest receiving material a day or 2 prior if you need material onsite early morning. We will do our best to accommodate requests for “after 3-5 pm, etc” based on driver availability. You do not need to be onsite for us to make a delivery unless you’d prefer to be. We will ask you for unloading instructions.

Q9. How much can I get delivered in one truckload?

It depends. We use lots of different sized trucks for different applications. Truck capacity varies based on weight of the product and volume of the order. Most of our trucks can haul in 5, 10, 15, or 20 yard increments. We work closely with our vendors who can often deliver to job sites. We can arrange delivery for up to 140 cubic yards of mulch and bark in a single truckload.
Our trucks can typically haul up to either 4 or 7 yards of heavier products such as soils, sand, and decorative stone. We work with vendors who can deliver up to 50 tons of heavier material at a time.

So what’s the most cost effective way to order if i need a lot of material? Answer: it depends. Large equipment is much more expensive than smaller equipment, which can make delivery with large equipment costly. Large equipment is heavy increasing chance of damage and requires significant amount of space to maneuver. Generally speaking, order based on what you need, not truck volumes. We can run through delivery options combining volume discounts to find the best option for you.
